From Tammie and Lynsi:
Hello everyone! We are enjoying our time in Haiti very much. Lynsi has already siad she doesn't want to leave. We have especially enjoyed meeing the Tremendous 10 and getting to know each of them. They each have assigned themselves "new names" and are in the process of assigning us new names as well. They now think Cody should be Poncho. Tammie is Sunshine. They are a great bunch of boys and we have been so blessed to meet them. I praise the Lord for Jim and Gayle and their hearts to serve these yound men and their commitment to follow through to completion of that.
From Gina:
Our 1st full day here was full of interesting events. The church we went to was right across the steet and the congregation was already singing when we got there (time is more of a relative concept here) The singing of course was Haitian and it was BEAUTIFUL--deep, rich timbre of voices accoumpanied by an accordion. The sermon was James 1:19-27 and one of the local pastors translated into English as the pastor spoke (which certainly helped).
For lunch, we went to Club Indigo. The ocean was clear and amazing. We forgot we were in desperate Haiti. Well, we forgot, that is, until we got 20 yard out the gate to where everyone is living in whatever put-together hovels they can create. The "have's" and the "have-nots" is amazing.
Tomorrow, we begin work with the school. Pray for us because we don't have a 100% understanding of what to teach or what they need.
Personal Note: Erik- Please attempt to send me a comment on the blog so I know that you are getting these messages. Also, tell all 4 girls I love and appreciate them. I send my love.
From Mister Sam, Madam Sam and Poncho (aka Cisco Kid),
We miss everyone, but we are having an amazing time. I, Lisa, especially enjoy watching Cody and Lynsi with the children. They are amazing. We are already so attached to these boys. I laughed until my stomach hurt today at them. Tomorrow Gina and I will work with 3 and 4 year olds. We really aren't sure what to do, but thankfully God does.
Our rooms and shower area are very nice. Much better than I expected. If it wasn't for the heat I could stay here. I haven't been able to get pictures on the blog, but I will try to tomorrow. Thank you all for the comments. It really blesses us to hear from you---keeps the homesick away!
Personal Note: Braden, I will talk to dad about this, but try calling Joe Follis, or Scott. Do that first thing tomorrow before the pool gets bad.
We will post again tomorrow evening.

Anxious to see the photos and learn more about the people and how you help them this week. Just your presence with a smile and helping hand is a blessing to them I'm sure.

I am glad you guys are having a good time. P.S.-Mom, the computer is getting really screwed up, we need to buy new spyware or something. I didn't want to touch it because I don't want to screw something up. Another P.S.: I think we should stick with the name Poncho.
Good to find your blog today. Lorie & I saw Brittney (sp) @ Smith's last night. She was busy as usual. She mentioned thinking & praying for you all a lot. Pastor Riguard is quite the individual. What a mission he must continue to be in that village! Praying for your physical & spiritual needs.

Glad you are SAFE above all else. Keep the info coming. PS - Braden, if you need help with the computer, email me.
I have finally had a chance to read the blog! I worked all weekend. So glad you all made it safe and are enjoying your time there. I can't wait to hear the millions of stories mom will tell when she gets back and see all of the pictures! Cody, the Brown's wanted me to tell you hi and be safe as did Neil, Lee and Audrey (who came in specifically to see you last night) and Mary Lou Francka. Basically your fan base out at Smith's which is the towns of Bolivar and Morrisville. :) Gina, I hung out with Austin the other night and he said to tell you hi and I saw Alex at Smith's the other night and she was so excited about your trip. She is such a sweetheart. Tammie and Lynsi, glad you girls are having a great time! Enjoy this time you have together as well. Grammy is getting her hair done and the boys are watching a movie. I have to work later this evening, but I am just going to hang out at the house today with everyone. Miss you all and praying for you constantly.
Love you all,
Britt
